Live blogging from cat trap central!

Hi and welcome

I'm setting a trap tonight and I hope Chills walks into it.

If you've been reading the Washington 1 update in your email, then you know that the last time the trap was set, Chills was within inches of being caught, but at the last moment he raised his nose to rub the top of the door and sprang it shut.

I'll keep you posted on all the action and you will be the first to know if a cat has been caught.

So dial in for frequent updates when you're ready to take a break from the watching the Olympics.

Sheila, I've been trying to post a comment, but it doesn't seem to be working. I'm new at this you know. Sherrill

By George, I think I've got it! I'll be waiting to find out "the rest of the story". Nice night out there for trapping. Sherrill

Hi Sherrill

Yes it's great out. So weird for August.

The trap is set, but nobody's out there yet.

We'll see now if Spook is stupid enought to get into it again.

My neighbor isn't home tonight, so I'll be able to leave the trap on the porch.

She's been so good about this.

Thanks for stoping by.

When are you going to catch a cat?! I'm on pins and needles here. Moody and I are anxious for news. Good luck - Rick

Hi Anne,

I wish I knew.

We have the windows open, but it's all quiet.

And by we, I mean Ultra and myself. She's actually in the window and, I don't think I've said this before.

She does not approve.

Speaking of disapproval, I did come clean with my landlord today. He wasn't happy about it, but after discussing the issue, he agreed in the end.

People think that if you just stop feeding cats they'll pick up and move to a better neighborhood.

But they don't. The can probably hunt enough to stay alive, but not enough to stay healthy. They don't willingly leave their territory.

Hey - its Rick here and Moody - not Anne. Moody and I are keeping track and reminiscing about his dear ill-fated feral cat mother.

Hi Rick,

Yes, if I recall, she was a beautiful cat.

Well, 11:03 pm and not a sound. Do you think they saw me and know what I'm up to?

I suppose Anne can't take the suspense.

Sort of like how you can't even tell her the Husker football scores until after the game.

I keep lying to her about it. She thinks they've won ten straight national championships.

Has Chills taken the bait yet? Maybe Spook told him what happens when you go in that metal cage.

"Dude! I totally got abducted!
I ended up in this place where I SWEAR they did things to my testicles!"

"Yeah, yeah Spook....whatever. I know you're just trying to keep me away from the Fancy Feast(tm)."

Oh god, Jonelle. You just put me on the floor.

I think most people are basket cases when it comes to love of animals. This was the most commented story in the journal star today about the Hickman horse Peter Rabbit.

If the link doesn't work just go to the most commented menu.

Do you suppose the Crocodile Hunter had nights where no crocs showed up for wranglin'?

I just noticed we seem to be on Pacific time here. There's probably a setting for that.
